Kingston Luminaries & festivities...

This was forwarded to me from Tracy! Thank you!

*****************************************

The Fire Department continues its annual Luminary display beginning at 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 19, on the Town Green.

The sidewalks will be lined with white paper luminaries, and visitors are welcome to attend. The event will include a tree lighting on the Town Green, caroling, hayrides and several open houses at nearby churches.

The Fire Department will open the Surprise Hose House to the public. From 5:30 to 8 p.m. children will be able to make holiday crafts and sing holiday songs at the Kingston Public Library while their parents enjoy hot cider and doughnuts.

Several area churches will open their doors, including First Parish, Mayflower Congregational, and Kingston Baptist Church. First Parish will host activities in the Beal House. Restrooms will also be available in the Beal House.

The popular hayrides, coming back this year after a year off, will begin at 6 p.m.

The tree-lighting ceremony will begin at 6 p.m.

Green Street will close to traffic at 5 p.m. Visitors may park at Coughlin & Coughlin on Elm Street, 3 Corners Restaurant on Main Street, the Highway Department on Evergreen Street, the Reed Community Building on Summer Street, or the Frederic C. Adams Public Library also on Summer Street.

Anyone wishing to make baked goods for the Fire Department open house can drop them off at the Pembroke Street Fire Station during the day on Saturday, Dec. 19. Anyone wishing to volunteer for setup or cleanup for these festivities would be very much appreciated. You can contact Captain David Currier at the Fire Station at 781-585-0532.
