Reading Makes Cent$

Rockland Trust is doing a reading program this summer. Children will get $2.50 for every book they read, up to 10 books from June 29th thru August 15th. All you need to do is visit your local branch and pick up a reading journal. Kids have to write about the book they read or draw a picture and the parents have to sign the page. After the kids read 4 books, you can go to the bank and they will deposit $10 into their savings account (or you open one for them). The kids will also be invited to an end of summer ice cream party as well!

Tuesdays For You

There's an event for moms going on at the AT&T store at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree on Tuesday, December 16th from 10-8. People will be there to talk with you about how technology can simplify and streamline your life! Who doesn't need to find out about that? They will be talking about new devices, their calling plans, holiday gift ideas, promotions and even how to handle your child's phone usage.

Family Zip is a cool website. You can list your best family friendly places to go and there's also parenting topics posted. All the tips are posted by real moms & dads! You can search by region, by ages/stages, by topic or even by author. When you read through the tips, you can zip them to sorta "vote" for them or you can zap them if you think it's a bad tip. You can even share comments on the tips! Invite your friends and your account is linked so you can see what they post or zip too. A lot of the places listed are local Massachusetts links since the site used to be just this area. This website is definitely worth checking out, especially if you're looking for things to do with the kids and want some honest opinions about places/things to do!
