Yea! 3-D Movies are coming to Flagship Cinemas in Wareham! It's the only theater in our area that will be offering the movies in 3-D that I know of!

Starting Friday, May 29 you can go see the new movie Up! in 3-D. Of course, the 3-D movies are more expensive but I know the kids will love it!

RF Morse

Ok, so it's not really a "kids" place but if you want to go buy some plants/flowers and happen to have the kids with you....RF Morse in Wareham is a good place to go! My kids love going to this nursery with me for 2 reasons:

  1. Free Popcorn. They have a popcorn machine inside and you're welcome to help yourself. The kids love this.
  2. The bird. They have a big parrot-like bird (don't know the type) inside by the popcorn. It will talk to you on occasion and the kids like seeing it.
So when you have to go out to get your fall mums and the kids are in tow, this would be a good stop to make with them! And you might luck out and go when they are having a great sale!

Water Wizz

If you are tired of the heat and looking for something cool to do, you have to hit Water Wizz in Wareham. It is a water park that looks small from the street but once you get in there, it is packed with things to do. From the last river, small slides, big slides, pirate slide and the wave pool. You will find something to keep you cool!! Anyone under 48” has to have a life jacket on, so if you have one that your child likes bring it. They have free ones to use but they aren’t very stylish and sort of hard to maneuver when on the lazy river in a tube. We went with my sons cub scout pack so we had discounted tickets. It was really worth the trip.

Normally :Admission - $30.00; under 48" and seniors (65)- $15.00. All children under 48" must follow the 48" rule (life jackets). Children 2 and under are FREE. Group rates are less depending on the size of your group 25 is the minimum for a group.

You can find coupons at $2 off coupons when available at participating Burger King, Tedeschis/Lil'l Peach Stores.

They are located on Route 28 in Wareham and it is open from 10 -6 usually, verify at the website http://www.waterwizz.com/. If you plan to spend the day it is worth the $ as you will be able to ride anything you want all day long. There is an adventure island for little ones with pint size slides and for those who aren’t afraid of anything try the pirate plunge, it is a water slide partially in the dark and it is fast and scary. What a ride!!!

My children had a ball in the wave pool. The pool starts and stops on a schedule. The kids really loved going in deep and waiting for the waves to start, then they kept hopping the waves until it was done and wait to do it all over again.

I loved the lazy river as I could park my butt on a tube and float around for hours and enjoy the sounds of waterfalls and kids laughing and screaming with excitement!!!

Plus the best thing is you can bring in your own snacks/lunch (less glass bottles) and drinks. Or you can hop across the street to Burger King to grab lunch and then go back for more fun on the slides!
The only down fall for me was that my camera wasn't waterproof so I didn't get to take a lot of pictures.

It's Almost Blueberry Picking Time!

The kids love to go blueberry picking and have me make up some yummy treats with them. Our place of choice is a Blueberry picking farm on N. Carver Road in Wareham. It's just off Rt. 58, near Rt. 495. Parking is on the side of the road. I don't even know if this place has an actual name! Picking usually starts mid to late July. Hours are 8-5 daily!

Another local place is the Blueberry Farm in Hanson. They are on W. Washington St. off Rt. 14.

We've been to a place on the Plympton/Halifax line a few years ago but I think Sauchuk Farm purchased them and I don't know if they still do the PYO.

Here's a great site to find PYO farms locally: PickYourOwn.org
