Hallmarkparty.com

Have you seen this site?  Hallmark Party will let you upload a picture and they will print them on the birthday plate of your choice!  They have all sorts of themes:  Princesses, Scooby, Batman, Mickey and more.

IMG_1519 You can even do them for holidays, baby, anniversary etc.  What a great idea!  (I ordered the chocolate cake style plate for my daughter’s birthday…and love them!  Great quality and pretty fast shipping! )  These would be great for a class party too.

9” dinner plates are a package of 10 for $10.00.  They were featured in Family Fun’s February magazine and if you use code FamilyFun50, you can get 10 plates for just $5.00!

Silhouette Picture Craft

I’ve always loved the framed silhouette pictures you see hanging on walls. Last time I saw them for sale was at Disney and they weren’t cheap.  Well amongst my web surfing, I came across this great blog that shows you how to make your own kids silhouette pictures for your wall.  So easy to do!

I had my kids stand in front of a glass door and didn’t usIMG_1369e the flash…made it easier to see their silhouette.  The tricky part was the cutting, making sure you do smooth lines and keep them exact.  I have a super sharp tiny pair of scissors from scrapbooking that worked perfectly.  I got my silhouettes  painted and they are drying (and they do dry super fast).  I just need to pick up my frames and some spray adhesive!

I can’t wait for them to be done…they look awesome already!

UPDATE:  After searching and searching for the frames, I found them at Michaels for 40% off  plus an extra 25% off coupon!  Here’s the end result:

I LOVE them!

Houseparty.com

Not sure how many of you have heard of houseparty.com…but it’s cool!  If you sign up with them, you can apply to host parties featuring lots of different brands.  Best of all…it’s FREE!

If you’re picked to be a host, they send you a huge box of things to host the party…usually coupons for free things (whatever is being featured) plus lots of freebies for the guests to take home!

I’ve hosted quite a few parties:  Oscar Meyer Hot Dogs, Canon paper, Better Homes & Gardens Cookie Swap and my latest one is Arnold’s Sandwich Thins.

Lots of times there’s parties geared towards kids.  Definitely go sign up!

EXPRESSIONS Duxbury

EXPRESSIONS is a paint your own pottery place and one of those places that I keep saying I’m going to bring the kids to or even go to for a Ladies Night Out.  But…I haven’t gotten my butt over there yet!  Well, I noticed on Facebook that they are having fun kids workshops Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during school vacation week.  Things like bubble painting, glass fusing and more.  You can see the whole listing of workshops here.   Everything sounds like so much fun and I think they kids would really like it.   Space is limited so you should sign up in advance.

And if I don’t get over there during vacation with the kids….I’m definitely booking a girls night there soon!

Last minute vacation getaway

I just got an email from the Ocean Edge Resort & Club in Brewster.  They are having a special for school vacation week:  $99/night and kids eat free!  They also have daily activities for the kids at their indoor pool like crafts, games, pizza party etc.  Guests also get discounted rates at the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History.  They even have a family movie on some nights too.  You can see their full schedule of events here.

If I didn’t already have vacation plans, I think I’d definitely go try this place out!  If you do go, please let me know what you think!

Fashion Focus Classes

My daughter just started her second semester at Maria Wood’s Fashion Focus in Pembroke.  She LOVES it!  It’s such a girly class where they learn things like hair & skin care, fitness, personal grooming, manners etc.  They end each class doing runway walks and poses.  The end of each semester they have a Fashion Show as well.  My daughter is so excited to go to class every week.  Great for building the girls self esteem!  There’s still time to enroll if your little girl is interested.  Check out the website or facebook page.

You can also join Fashion Focus at the Kingston Mall on Thursday 2/19 from 12-2 for free hair & nails or at Colony Place on 2/19 from 11-1 for a mini day of beauty.

Hanson Bowladrome

Last week the kids had an early release day so we decided to take them over to the Hanson Bowladrome on Reed Street.  This place has nothing fancy, just plain ol’ bowling.  We were the only ones there for most of the time until 2 grandmas showed up with some of their grandkids.

Pricing was pretty reasonable….$1.00 for shoe rentals then $3.00 per string played.  Me & the kids played for close to 2 hours for $26.  Not too bad!  No extra fees for the bumpers up or anything!

Check them out next time you’re looking for something to do or if you want to avoid crowds, lol.  Their hours are Sun 1-9 Mon 5-9 Tues 9-4 5-9 Wed. 5-9 Thur. 9-4 5-9 Fri 5-10 Sat. 9- til the last person is gone I guess since it was blank.

A Few Things....

Michaels is having activities for the kids during school vacation week. Some things were free and some cost money. I didn't pay too much attention because I thought I'd find it on their website...but I don't see it there! I'll post more info should I find it!

Friendly's is doing their $1.99 kids meals on Wednesday nights still. And I heard a rumor that they will be having a special with a family eating for $20...not sure on specifics for that though....

School vacation is coming up fast...what are your plans?? =)
